2025 was an election year for BWP. In the Regions and Provinces the candidates were already chosen. At last week's General Assembly, the new composition of the Board was accepted.

Yesterday, the new Board met for the first time. Geert Helsen was elected as president. Geert: “It is a great honor and responsibility and I am fully aware of the importance of this role within our breeding studbook. BWP is not just another studbook. We are an internationally respected name built on generations of passion, expertise and cooperation between breeders, riders, dealers and volunteers. Our genetic capital is world-class, but our greatest asset remains the people behind the studbook: the many members who put their trust in our studbook operations every day. Today starts a new chapter. A council with fresh ideas, new energy and at the same time deep respect for what our predecessors have built. I strongly believe that in this composition we have all the knowledge and experience to make BWP even more future-oriented, transparent and decisive, soon we will come out with our plans.”
